National Food Day is October 24th, and Food Day Long Beach has been hard at work – announcing 10 City-Wide Food Champions, and coordinating a buffet of events listed below – and in our calendar – that highlight sustainability, food access, and innovation!

This annual fundraiser for Growing Experience Urban Farm brings together some of the most innovative chefs in the region for an evening of locavore delights. Tickets must be purchased in advance here.
Slow Money So-Cal, LB Fresh, and MADE in Long Beach collaborate to bring an event to Innovation Week – one that introduces several models of how food makers can gain access to funding. Food makers are invited to come learn more about how these models work, and the public is invited to sample amazing food from throughout the SoCal region.

Voicewaves LB will premiere a series of “local food stories” shorts, Food For Change will screen for free, and local food producers will offer samples and insight into their process!
