Long Beach Fresh is excited to partner with Long Beach’s Grow2Zero FARMS, as they launch a food delivery program for homebound residents in West Long Beach.
The delivery program will provide fresh produce grown at Grow2Zero FARMS and food from Food Finders, Food Forward, and Rockenwagner Bakery.
Currently, we’re seeking local businesses, agencies, and offices to sponsor the program by placing their logos on 10,000 reusable and insulated bags that will be distributed throughout the community this year.
The rates for sponsorship are:
$500 for a 2”x2” logo
$1,000 for a 3”x”3 logo
$1,500 for a 4”x4” logo
The program is a great opportunity for local recognition, and benefits the food distribution program directly. All inquiries must be submitted to info@grow2zero.org by May 15, 2022 to be considered before the May 17th print deadline. Sponsors are asked to submit a print-quality logo along with the sponsorship level.
The program will allow households to select groceries by placing a phone order each week, to be delivered the following week, for a total of six weeks of distribution. It seeks to assist residents who struggle with food insecurity, in a neighborhood still classified as a “food desert,” where limited access to affordable groceries and high environmental burdens are present.
For those who are homebound, these impacts are compounded, requiring further support for food security. This project is supported by a United States Environmental Protection Agency grant, with funds raised through sponsorship to be used to continue providing fresh, nutritious food to the community once the grant ends.
Other cash donations from individuals are also welcome by clicking the donate button at Grow2Zero’s site. The farm is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization.
